Core Of Brothers
Focused Living's board is in reality a Core of Brothers who are committed to each other and to the ministry that God has placed before us.
Rob Buck - (Game Man) Treasurer. Rob and Betsy , live in Columbia, SC and have four grown children. He is the president of Alpha Training and Services, Inc. a cutting edge computer training company. He holds a computer science degree from USC and is a crazed Yankee fan. He is a writer, dtriathlete, drummer, paint baller, computer whiz and outdoors guy who loves to buff his 'dome' in his spare time.
Jason Yarborough is married to Julie, his amazing bride of 14 years, they live in West Columbia, South Carolina. They have been blessed with 3 wonderful children, Kenneth(12), Reese(8), and Kyler (newborn). He works full time as the Marketing Analyst for UPS in the South Carolina District. He is currently serving at his home church, Springdale Baptist. His passion is to be the leader that God created him to be and to guide the men in the church toward Christ so they too can become the men that God designed them to be. Jason received his undergrad degree from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.
Steve Arneson - (Disco) Ministry associate. Steve has been a ministry associates since 2000. He lives with his wife, Cindy, on Lake Murray and has two children. He is the director of Lake Murray Counseling Center, graduated from USC in Business, and has a masters in counseling from Columbia International University. He loves water-skiing, boating, sailing, fishing and the great outdoors. He is the only Core Brother who sports a tan 12 months out of the year!
Bud Wilson - (Claudius Maximus) Bud has been a champion of Focused Living since 2001. He has experienced every facet of the ministry, from the Forums to SALT discipleship to Each One Reach One training. He lives in Columbia with his wonderful wife, Kate, three daughters and one son. He's a CPA and enjoys camping with his family.
Paul Yarborough - (Mr. Grin) Paul and his wife Claire reside in Georgetown, SC. This Harley riding, shag dancing, custom home builder and realtor has a great heart for people. He is constantly bringing folks to and building them up in Christ. With Paul around, fun will abound! They have two grown children and two grandchildren.
Creig Dupuis - Creig considers himself a product of Focused Living and now serves as one of its leaders. He is actively involved in both the forum ministry and SALT discipleship ministry. Creig loves investing himself into the younger generation of Christian leaders. He has worked in the area of general dentistry for over 20 years.
In addition to the Core, FLM also has a group of advisory brothers that weigh in on decisions:
John Pitner (Guru) This creatively dynamic Clemson grad lives with his beautiful bride, Margaret, in the Columbia area. He is an in your face 'tin grinner' (orthodontist) along with his daughter, an Air Force vet, golfer, world traveler, mountain man and all around nice guy. He is credited with the original vision for this ministry in 1992 when he used his winsome personality through blackmail and extortion to 'recruit' Perry to be its first president.
Derek Gowdy - (Big D) This die hard Carolina Gamecock fan (Moore School MBA '95) has been happily married to Phyllis since 1987. They live on Lake Wateree. He has been involved with FLM since 1995- hosting a forum, discipling men in SALT, leading 10+ international missions adventures, and is now a member of the advisory team. Derek spends his days working as Vice President of Supply Management for Hilex Poly in Hartsville, SC. He enjoys weight lifting, wake boarding, mountain and road biking.
Doug Shales - (Bush Wacker) Doug lives with his wife, Ruth, in Columbia, SC and have 4 grown children and ten grandchildren. He is retired from Industrial Scientific, where he served as the South Eastern Regional Sales Rep. He and his family also served on the mission field in the Dominican Republic. Doug loves to facilitate Christian small groups, is a tireless trail blazer, prolific gardener, fearless storm chaser (Hugo, Andrew, etc.) and wife lover.
Russ Cadle - (Russlin' Cattle, Cades) Russ lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Virginia, and they have 3 grown daughters. He has been president of Friendship Ministries for over 25 years, which is also a ministry to men in the Delaware Valley. Russ loves people, people and more people. Occasionally you will find him meeting with, serving and loving people! His claim to fame for us is that God used him to bring Perry into a relationship with Christ in 1969. www.friendshipministries.com
Jeb Shore - (Jebster) Jeb lives with his wife, Laurie, and their daughter, Jeannie, in Pennsylvania where he is on staff at Branch Creek Community Church. He and Laurie both have a television news media background. He graduated from Eastern College and Fuller Theological Seminary with an MDiv. He enjoys all sports, especially hoops, pumping iron (buns of steel!), and looking cool. He grew up in Perry's youth ministry and possesses significant amounts of dirt on him!
Kenny Bowers - (The Encourager, Barnabus) Ken lives in Rockville, MD with his wife, Rachael, and has three grown children. Kenny is a real-estate manager and executive at LLewellyn Reality. This University of MD graduate is a soccer fanatic, loves watching action movies, and raises golden retrievers.
Warren Labrie - (Gray Goose) Warren and his wife Wendy have been a longtime friends of FLM. His passion for making Christ known is contagious. He has four grown daughters and is retired as president of a gourmet food processing and packaging plant. He is ordained with the Congregational Christian Church in Canada and serves in the denomination as national director responsible for men’s ministry across Canada.
